Privacy notes.
How the site handles information submitted by visitors.
Privacy
This notice explains how the Christopher Watne author website handles information you choose to submit. The website is operated as Christopher Watne's author site.
Information you provide
The contact form asks for your name, email address, inquiry topic, and message. Please do not send sensitive personal information. Your email address is used to respond to your inquiry and is not treated as a newsletter signup.
Contact form provider
Contact form submissions are processed by Formspree, a third-party form service. Formspree processes the form data to deliver and help protect messages from spam. Messages may be delivered to the website operator's designated inbox and stored by the form provider under its service settings and policies.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP addresses and request information needed to operate and protect the website. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to Notes from the Writing Desk, your email address is submitted to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), a third-party email newsletter service. Kit manages subscriptions, sends the confirmation email and any future newsletters, and processes information needed to provide those services. The newsletter signup form loads content from Kit on the pages where it appears. Subscribing is voluntary, and subscribers can unsubscribe using the link included in emails. Sending a contact message does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
Questions or removal requests
Use the contact form when it is active to ask about a message you sent or request that your contact information be removed from records under the website operator's control. The operator may need to retain certain records where appropriate or required.
Contact form submissions are sent to Formspree for delivery. A message is not considered verified until it has appeared in the Formspree inbox and the destination email account during a live test.
